The Leader of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi conducts a visit to the border region with Syria

Faleh Al-Fayyad, the leader of Iraq’s Hashd Shaabi, also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), conducted an inspection of the border region with Syria on Friday. During his visit, Al-Fayyad affirmed the PMF’s preparedness to address and adapt to any emerging developments in light of the recent situation in Syria.

Al-Fayyad emphasized that grassroots movements are fully committed to safeguarding Iraq and will take all necessary measures to thwart any attempts to compromise its security.

The commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces emphasized the comprehensive preparations underway to safeguard Al-Anbar province against any potential security breaches. He stressed the critical importance of drawing lessons from the events of 2014 to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Al-Fayyad was welcomed by a contingent of security officials in the Al-Qaem region of Al-Anbar province, according to a statement issued by the Media Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

According to the statement, the purpose of the visit is to evaluate operational units and review fortifications and security protocols along the border with Syria.
