The Leader of Ummah Imam Khamenei emphasizes respect for women

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has stated that a correct view towards woman is the one that recognizes her within the framework of her own gender and exalting values.
Addressing hundreds of women active in different fields including universities, seminaries, executive organs, Qur’anic fields, media and NGOs on Saturday, the Supreme Leader said that “strengthening the institution of family” and “respecting and honoring women at home” are two important and immediate needs of society.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei added that the active and efficient women in the Islamic Revolution front should make their presence more conspicuous in the scene of defending the Islamic Revolution.
Referring to the shortcomings in conveying the ideological principles of Islam about the issue of woman in the global arena, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that good works have been done about the issue of woman, thanks to the Islamic Republic system and Imam Khomeini (May his soul rest in peace). But it needs further work and shaping of an offensive front immune from others’ aggression.
Emphasizing that there shouldn’t be any delay or halt in women’s awakening movement, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that the Western dialog about women is entirely calculated and political adding that although this discourse has apparently reached its climax, but the western discourse about woman is directed towards collapse and decadence.
The Supreme Leader added that Westerners seek to force professions that are suitable for the physical and mental status of men on women and try to portray this as a privilege and something to be proud of.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei added that a high number of female intellectuals as well as cultural and political activists is a source of pride. He said that from the Islamic perspective, men and women have special characteristics due to their manner of creation, but they are not different in their human rights, social and moral values, and spiritual evolution.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei also pointed to the important role of women in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, saying that the state media is obligated to show the real characteristics of a Muslim woman and the examples of pious and active women with proper hijab.
