The Kremlin announced on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to deliberate on the current circumstances in Syria.

According to a statement from the Kremlin reported by Reuters, attention was centered on the worsening circumstances in the Syrian Arab Republic.

“Unwavering backing was affirmed for the efforts undertaken by Syria’s legitimate authorities to reestablish constitutional order and to revive the political, economic, and societal stability of the nation.”
