Syrian PM stresses importance of dialogue for solving crisis

20130612-191120_h487162Syrian Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi stressed the importance of dialogue among all social and political components as the only mode that bolsters the spirit of amity and soaring above injustices.

The premier’s remarks came during the meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for solving the crisis with members of the General Sports Union’s executive office, headed by its chairman Mowaffaq Joum’a.

He added that the forthcoming national dialogue conference will be held in Syria without foreign meddling or dictates, hailing the victories of the Syrian army and the internal security forces for restoring security and stability to Syria.

Al-Halqi also emphasized the government’s efforts to confront the economic war on Syria and mitigate its negative impact on citizens and to provide basic services for them, such as electricity and health services.

He underscored the significance of the General Sports Union in raising Syria’s profile in Arab, regional and Olympic arenas through achieving honorable victories.

The prime minister also highlighted the role of the union in enhancing the culture of dialogue and discarding violence, and building a generation capable of defending the homeland, underlining the government’s care for sports and sharpening the skills and physical fitness of sportsmen.

For his part, Joum’a stressed the union’s support for the government in implementing the political program as the sole way out of the crisis, commending the government’s immense efforts for coping with the economic and service situation.

The executive committee members laid down their visions for solving the crisis through ratcheting up communications among citizens for creating an environment conducive to making the national dialogue a success.

They also underscored the important role of the public sector in markets for curbing the soaring prices and reconsidering curricula.

Members of the ministerial committees replied to questions about the mechanisms for ensuring the success of the forthcoming national dialogue, addressing the files of the kidnapped and missing, and handling the aftermath of the crisis.

In press statements following the meeting, Joum’a said that the national dialogue conference according to the political program in Syria would prepare the groundwork for emerging from the crisis and meeting the demands of the Syrian people.

He added that the meeting tackled improving the sports facilities and preparing sports clubs to be cultural, social and service institutions whose mission is to cultivate citizens culturally and physically.

Al-Halqi: Government exerts immense efforts to meet citizens’ needs

Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi said the government will carry out the reconstruction plan in all governments according to zoning schemes that take into consideration the environmental and geographical conditions for every area.

Al-Halqi’s remarks came during his meeting on Wednesday with MPs representing Homs governorate, stressing the importance of periodical meetings with the MPs representing each province to inspect the service and social conditions and iron out difficulties.

Al-Halqi listened to a review of the service and developmental sectors’ status as some members pinpointed a ”negligence in the work of some administrative units and public facilities, and corruption in distributing food packages.”
