Informed military sources confirmed that the Syrian Army is pushing back the al-Nusra Front fighters across the Southern province of Dara’a.

The sources said that the Syrian army men stormed the Nusra fighters’ positions in the nearby areas of Saida village and the Eastern quarter of al-Nua’ima town in the Eastern countryside of Dara’a, and pushed the rebels back from the frontline.

The sources added that scores of terrorists were killed and injured in the army operations against their hideouts to the West of al-Yadodeh village in the Northwestern parts of the province.

In Dara’a al-Balad neighborhood, the army units destroyed the terrorists’ positions and vehicles, some equipped with machineguns, on the meteorology-al-Sad road.

On Thursday, the army artillery units shelled the positions of the militant groups in the nearby areas of the towns of Kafr Shams and al-Mismiyeh in al-Sanamin region in the Northern parts of Dara’a city, which forced the fighters to retreat from their strongholds.

Meantime, army troops killed scores of terrorists and injured others in Atman town, about 5 km North of Dara’a city.

The situation of rebel groups in the towns of al-Yadouda, Zamrin, and al-Hara in the Northwestern parts of the province was the same, and the army’s operation killed and wounded a number of them.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
