Turkish Cultural Week is slated to be held in the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran to present the country’s traditional costumes and cultural heritage.

Organized by Turkish embassy in Iran, the event will showcase handicrafts, artworks, ethnic costumes and photo exhibition including photos of Turkish city architecture and Silk Road through Iran and Turkey, the IAF director Majid Sarsangi said in a press conference held on February 17.

Turkish Ambassador Umit Yardim and cultural attaché Yakup Alkilic also attended the conference and announced aim and program of the event.

A number of Turkish movies are scheduled to be screened during the three-day event to represent the country’s cinema to Iranian audience, said Turkish official Alkilic in the conference.

The festival is also to host several traditional and folk Turkish music groups and a number of panel discussions.

The works and life of some contemporary poets of two countries will also be reviewed during the event.

While two nations have cultural commonalities, holding these festivals can boost the friendship and brotherhood between the countries, Sarsangi noted.

Iran had earlier held several cultural festivals in a number of Turkish cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Erzurum and Ankara that were warmly received.

Turkish Cultural Days is programmed to take place from February 20 through 22, 2013.
