The Syrian government forces tightened their noose on Fatah al-Sham (previously known as al-Nusra Front) and managed to retake new regions after terrorists killed an army general who was a member of the reconciliation delegation.

Fierce clashes have resumed in several directions in the surrounding areas of the village of Ein al-Fijeh in Wadi al-Bardi region as the Syrian army’s artillery and missile units hit the terrorists’ military positions in the same region.

Meantime, the Syrian army units managed to take control of the strategic Ra’as al-Sireh region in the Northern part of Wadi al-Bardi overlooking Ein al-Fijeh and Deir Moqern.

The Syrian army also took control of vast areas in Deir Moqern region.

Terrorists assassinated Ahmad al-Ghadban, one of the coordinators of the Syrian reconciliation in Wadi Barada area in Damascus Province today.

Local sources said terrorists shot al-Ghadban after he stepped out of a meeting with leaders of armed groups in Ayn al-Figeh village and killed him.

An agreement was reached on Friday for resolving the status of militants in Wadi Barada who are willing to turn themselves in and hand over their weapons, while the militants who are not originally from the area and who reject the agreement will be transported to Idlib province.

The agreement also stipulates for allowing repair and maintenance team to enter Ayn al-Figeh spring to fix the damage caused to it by terrorist attacks.

Earlier on Sunday, the Syrian army troops continued their military operations against the terrorists in Eastern Ghouta and captured the strategic town of Ein al-Khazra in Wadi al-Bardi region.

The winning back of Ein al-Khazra comes right after the Syrian army regained control of the strategic villages of Basima and Ein al-Fijeh in Wadi al-Bardi region.

The Syrian army’s advances came after killing tens of terrorists and fleeing of many others.

Reports said on Saturday that the army troops’ rapid advances against terrorists and wining back Basimeh and Ein al-Fijeh villages have paved the way for the reopening the flow of drinking water from Wadi al-Bardi to Damascus.

The army soldiers that engaged in fierce clashes with terrorist groups in Wadi al-Bardi region in Western Ghouta took full control over Basimeh and Ein al-Fijeh, while terrorists pulled back forces towards Ein al-Khazra town.

The army men are now involved in an intense battle with terrorists in Ein al-Khazra, forcing the militants to leave their positions in the town.

The army troops’ advances will soon enable maintenance groups deployed in Ein al-Fijeh region to repair its water facilities.

Syrian Minister of Water Resources Nabil al-Hassan underlined that maintenance groups have entered Ein al-Fijeh and will start fixing the water facilities in the region.

Local sources meanwhile said that water pumping operation have started after several hours of work by maintenance groups in Ein al-Fijeh, adding that water will soon come back to Damascus residents.

But, some reports said that terrorists have targeted the regions near water reservoirs halting repairing process.
