Radwan: Discussion of Palestinian demands cannot be postponed

images_News_2014_08_12_ridwan_300_0Leader in Hamas Movement Ismail Radwan denied Israeli claims saying that Palestinian factions agreed to postpone the discussion on the establishment of a seaport and an airport in Gaza and the release of Palestinian detainees.

He stressed his Movement’s adherence to all Palestinian people’s declared demands without exceptions.

Risalah Net website has quoted Radwan as saying that Hamas insists on receiving a written Israeli response to the demands through the Egyptian mediators, pointing out that they have received no Israeli response till this moment.

Haaretz Hebrew newspaper earlier claimed that the Palestinians had agreed to postpone the discussion on the establishment of a seaport and an airport in Gaza to a later unnamed date.

On the other hand, the Israeli cabinet is expected to meet today afternoon to discuss Israeli response over Palestinian demands presented during Cairo talks.

Walla Hebrew website stated that the Israeli cabinet did not meet since last Tuesday due to the sharp differences between its members over Netanyahu’s positions regarding ceasefire and negotiations.

For his part, member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzook said that there were difficulties in the ongoing ceasefire talks in Cairo, saying that the current 72-hour ceasefire agreement would be the last.

“We have noticed real seriousness in dealing with the negotiations”, Abu Marzouk said in on Twitter this morning. “What is required now is to achieve the Palestinian people’s demands.”

Cairo indirect talks were resumed on Monday between Palestinians and Israelis under Egyptian mediation to reach a durable ceasefire, while a 72-hour ceasefire was declared late on Sunday.
