Islamic Iran Cmdr. advises Great Satan US to stay out of PG

Senior Iranian commander Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri says the US must leave the Persian Gulf if it wants to avoid encountering unpleasant situations in the future.

“Longtime US presence in the region has resulted in the increase of insecurity and unrest, and raises the possibility of tension and confrontation,” the deputy head of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Wednesday.

Referring to Iran’s warning to a US aircraft carrier to stay out of the Persian Gulf, Jazayeri said Tehran’s demand is in line with international law and the Islamic Republic is determined to protect its rights, adding that “the US must understand this determination.”

Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Ataollah Salehi warned American aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis on Tuesday not to return to its previous position in the Persian Gulf.

The carrier had left the Persian Gulf during Iran’s massive 10-day naval drill, codenamed “Velayat 90.”

The Pentagon, however, announced later on the same day that it is determined to keep US warships in the Persian Gulf.

Jazayeri concluded that the US will have no choice but to leave the region, advising the Americans to keep out of the Persian Gulf or accept responsibility for any future problems.
