UN Reports: Gaza Sees Tragic Toll with 100 Child Casualties Daily in Gaza Assaults
According to a report by the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, the Israeli military's actions have resulted in at least 100 Palestinian children being killed or injured daily in Gaza following the cessation of the ceasefire on March 18.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UNRWA, issued a stark warning on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, stating that the renewed hostilities in Gaza are depriving Palestinian children of their childhood, effectively transforming the embattled region into a “no land” for young inhabitants.
In a statement on X, Lazzarini described the situation as “harrowing,” highlighting that at least 100 children reportedly face death or injury daily in Gaza amid renewed strikes, according to UNICEF data. He emphasized that “nothing justifies the killing of children.”
He expressed sorrow over the loss of “young lives” being “cut short in a conflict not instigated by children,” urging for intensified efforts to safeguard Gaza’s youngest civilians through the reinstatement of the ceasefire.
He reported that since the commencement of the conflict on October 7, 2023, a total of 15,000 children have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip.
He expressed concern that the revival of conflict is once more depriving children of their childhood, transforming Gaza into a “no land” for the young. He described the situation as a blemish on the fabric of shared humanity.
UNICEF has reported that the recent escalation of conflict in Gaza over the past 20 days has resulted in the deaths of 322 Palestinian children and left 609 injured.
In a statement released on Monday, the global organization dedicated to children’s welfare and rights reported that one million children in Gaza are enduring relentless airstrikes and an escalating humanitarian crisis, aggravated by Israel’s persistent blockade of aid into the densely populated region.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that the resumption of extensive military strikes by Israel, following the collapse of the ceasefire on March 18, has resulted in the deaths of at least 1,249 individuals in the beleaguered region.
According to recent reports, the toll of those injured since the resumption of Israeli attacks has now reached 3,022 individuals.
The ministry reported that recent figures account for 86 fatalities and 287 injuries occurring within the past 24 hours.
The ministry has reported that the cumulative death toll in Gaza has risen to 50,609 since the onset of the conflict on October 7, 2023. Additionally, the number of individuals injured in Gaza since that date has reached 115,063.
