The US Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Intelligence have issued a warning to military, law enforcement and intelligence personnel informing them about the threat of ISIL attacks.

The warning, which appeared in a new security bulletin, advises that US intelligence has seen ISIL terrorists overseas calling for individuals in the US to attack American security and intelligence personnel.

Federal officials warned personnel to limit their online postings in order to avoid giving any information that would leave them vulnerable to attacks.

The FBI had no information available about a specific imminent threat, the bulletin said.

Concerns about domestic terrorist attacks have been raised as thousands of Western foreign nationals have left their homes to join Takfiri militants in Syria and Iraq.

ISIL has established a sophisticated and high-tech recruitment propaganda reaching out to citizens in Europe, the United States and Canada.

The terrorist group has now its own multilingual media arm, Al Hayat, which is behind the creation and distribution of high quality magazines and well-produced videos. ISIL even uses drones and GoPro action cameras to attract Western people, CBS News reported.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said in September that preventing the flow of foreign fighters joining ISIL will be far more important than conducting airstrikes in the mission to degrade and destroy the terrorist group.
