The mother and her daughters, aged 15 and 14 years, were traveling in a vehicle in the Spin Boldak town near the Pakistani border when the home-made bomb tore through their vehicle around 9 a.m. in Akharkhel area.

The governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal, confirming the incident, accused the Taliban of planting the improvised explosive device, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.

He said another woman was killed in the Panjwai district, where she was on her way home when stepped on a hidden mine that went off.

Residents complain Taliban plant mines in their fields and orchards, threatening their lives.
