US drone crashes in Afghanistan

An unmanned aerial vehicle operated by US-led forces has crashed in eastern Afghanistan, NATO and Afghan officials say.

The drone came down in Behsud district in eastern Nangarhar province early on Tuesday, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Officials say the drone crashed due to technical problems. The Taliban have not made any remarks in this regard.

The militants claim that they have shot down several NATO helicopters and drone aircrafts in different parts of Afghanistan over the past months.

The Press TV correspondent said that US-led forces reached the site of the crash and seized the pictures and videos taken by journalists.

Most US drones operate near Afghanistan’s border with Pakistan or inside Pakistan’s tribal belt.

A few days ago, another US unmanned aircraft crashed in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Khost.
