At least three Syrian civilians have been killed by rocket shells fired by the Takfiri terrorists in Syria’s capital, Damascus.

According to a source at Damascus Police Command on Thursday, the shells fired by the terrorists hit East Ghouta, which is one of the residential neighborhoods in Damascus, Syria’s official news agency, SANA, reported.

The source further noted that at least 30 others sustained injuries in the attack.

The attack caused damage to some houses in the area and a number of cars were burnt as well.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the deadly incident. However, such attacks on civilians are usually carried out by Takfiri militants operating against the Syrian government.

According to the so-called UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on February 1, a bomb blast occurred on a bus in the central district of Souq al-Hamadiyeh in Damascus, leaving at least seven people dead and 20 injured.

On January 25, Takfiri militants launched heavy rocket and mortar attacks on Damascus, killing seven people and injuring dozens.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 200,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 7.2 million Syrians have also become internally displaced due to the ongoing crisis, according to the United Nations.

The Takfiri terrorist groups, with members from several Western countries, control swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, and have been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
