Berri warns on Lebanon political turmoil

Lebanese parliament speaker, Nabih Berri, today warned of the worsening of the political turmoil in his country in view of the intransigence of certain political groups.

According to IRIB World Service, he noted that: “the March 14 Alliance is neither willing to cooperate in solving Lebanon’s problems nor in forming a new government. It continues to boycott parliament sessions.”
Berri added: This Alliance still avoids forming a coalition government based on the 6.9.9 formula which says the cabinet should include ministers from both the March 8 and March 14 Alliances.
He called for end of the political deadlock and forming a new government headed by premier-designate Tammam Salam. He urged all Lebanese groups to help resolve the country’s problems.
