Thousands of demonstrators have held a march through the streets of Washington DC, calling for US President Barack Obama to fulfill his first term promises despite the start of his second term.

According to Press TV, protesters criticized Obama for pandering to a few elitist groups while ignoring the needs of the American people.
Protests are expected to continue in the coming days during Obama’s inaugural ceremony celebrations.
Officials estimated that about 600,000 to 800,000 have attended the presidential inauguration, about half of the number of attendees at the 2009 ceremony, which drew a crowd of 1.8 million, who witnessed the first black president being sworn in.
