US slams UN report on Gaza war crimes as flawed

The US Secretary of State has slammed the findings of a United Nations report on Israel’s war crimes against people of Gaza.

Addressing the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Clinton condemned the Goldstone report, calling it “deeply flawed.”

The United States has “repeatedly voted against the deeply flawed Goldstone Report,” Clinton boasted.

Clinton and her husband and former US President Bill Clinton have been widely reported to have deep personal loyalty to the Israeli regime and have been credited to go out of their way to serve Israeli interests to the detriment of US national interest.

For instance, Bill Clinton attempted to free a convicted Israeli spy in a US prison but was rebuffed by American judicial and military officials. At the end of his term, he also issued an ‘executive pardon’ for another convicted criminal with dual US and Israeli citizenship who was a major contributor to the Tel Aviv regime.

The Goldstone report, released by the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict in September 2009, charged Israeli Defense Forces of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza while also accusing the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas of similar charges for firing home-made missiles as their only means of defense.

In his AIPAC speech, Clinton also expressed Obama administration’s “rock solid” support for Israel’s security and future, stressing the White House’s decision to increase the budget to further Israel’s military capabilities.

It is common for top US Administration officials and congressional leaders and representatives to race to AIPAC conferences to express loyalty and support for the regime that occupies Palestine.

Promoting anti-Iran policies, including military strikes, has been the on the top agenda of vigorous political campaigns by major Jewish and pro-Israeli pressure groups in the US, with AIPAC, Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) topping the list. Many top US officials and major media journalists have close ties with such organizations.

According to the non-profit anti-lobby organization ‘Common Cause’ and similar groups in the US that campaign against political contributions by powerful corporate and lobby groups, an overwhelming majority of American Senators and House Representatives receive financial contribution and importance lobbying support from AIPAC.

Additionally, it is widely reported that AIPAC also insists on offering newly-elected legislators and other political office holders in the US an all-paid-for and luxurious tour of the occupied Palestine that includes meeting with top Israeli officials for ‘briefings’ on Tel Aviv’s security concerns and requirements. Those who refuse the offer are commonly labeled ‘anti-Semite’ and subjected to vigorous negative campaigns by pro-Israel lobbyists against their reelection.
