US teen gunman kills 2 adults and 3 children inside home

A US teenage boy has shot and killed two adults and three children inside a New Mexico home, according to authorities.

The deadly incident occurred in the city of Albuquerque on Saturday night.

Police official, Aaron Williamson, said the boy was arrested and booked on two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

Several guns, including one semi-automatic military style rifle, were found at the home where the murders took place.

The victims’ names have not been released and the relation between the boy and the victims and the motive behind the murder were not immediately known.

Authorities have neither released the identity nor age of the teenage attacker.

The latest US shootings come just over a month after a shooting massacre at a Connecticut elementary school that killed 20 small children as well as six school teachers and administrators.

Amid heated rhetoric and pledges of introducing tougher gun control measures, federal US officials are yet to take any meaningful steps on the issue.

Meanwhile, American media have widely reported that gun sales in the nation have drastically surged in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting in anticipation of possible laws that would restrict the sale of assault rifles, widely used in mass killings across the US.
