Russian envoy confers with Hezbollah chief

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, has met and conferred with Lebanon’s Hezbollah Secretary General, Seyed Hassan Nasrollah.

According to IRNA, this meeting was held in Lebanon on Saturday night.

In this meeting, the two parties studied political topics of importance and regional developments, especially developments in Syria and Lebanon.

Further details on this meeting are yet to be reported.

The Head of Hezbollah’s International Relations, Ammar al-Musawi, and the Russian Envoy to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, were also present in this meeting.

The Russian deputy foreign minister, who arrived in Beirut on Thursday, also met and conferred with the Lebanese Premier, Tammam Salam, and Lebanese Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, in addition to a number of other Lebanese political figures. He also delivered a speech in a ceremony, which was held to mark the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Lebanon.
