Victorious Syrian Army on the verge of annihilating ISIL

Military experts say the recent advances of the Syrian Army troops at border with Iraq towards the ISIL-held town of Albu Kamal were of vital importance, showing that the pro-government forces will soon drive terrorists out of the war-hit country.

Amin Hatit pointed to the army’s advances against terrorists from the country’s border with Iraq towards North, and said that the army’s control over the large region between Deir Ezzur city and the town of Albu Kamal will pave the ground for the restoration of complete tranquility and security to Palmyra, energy-rich regions and Badiyeh (desert).

He further said that the joint operation of the Syrian and Iraqi forces will benefit both countries, adding that the Raqqa triangle towards Palmyra that covers a large region up to Deir Ezzur and Albu Kamal is a strategic triangle that can be used for the overall liberation operation in Syria.

Hatit underscored the strategic importance of Deir Ezzur that is located between Iraq and Syria, saying the army expects two important objectives from the liberation operation of Deir Ezzur. “First foiling the US plan to access central parts of Syria and Iraq and the second, completing its anti-terrorism operation and liberating all Syrian territories.”

Also, a military source said days ago that the Syrian Army soldiers have entered Deir Ezzur province from its Southeastern part for the first time in the last five years, adding that the pro-government forces are only 125km away from Albu Kamal.

Expert believe that simultaneous with the army’s anti-ISIL operations in Homs, Hama and Raqqa provinces, the pro-government forces’ control over Deir Ezzur province that is considered as the second bastion of ISIL in Syria after Raqqa, can end ISIL’s presence in the war-torn country.

Relevant reports said on Saturday that the army troops continued their advances against ISIL in Raqqa and Deir Ezzur provinces and managed to take control of a strategic town, blocking the path of the US and its affiliated militants to Deir Ezzur.

The army men captured the key town of al-Rasafeh West of Raqqa province and closed off the US planned move to Deir Ezzur city through Western Raqqa.

In the meantime, the army men closed off the Southern entrance of Raqqa city to ISIL by capturing al-Rasafeh.

Field sources said that recent advances of the army soldiers have blocked the US-backed Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces path to approach Deir Ezzur.

Ali Maqsoud, a Syrian military expert said al-Rasafeh that is located West of Deir Ezzur and South of Raqqa is now under the control of the Syrian army, “so all US plans to access Deir Ezzur are null and void now”.
