Recent missile test sign of Israel warmongering in Mideast: Iran cmdr.

The Chief of Staff of Iran Armed Forces says Israel’s recent ballistic missile test in the Mediterranean Sea shows the regime is the warmonger of the Middle East.

“This provocative incident is another sign that the occupiers of al-Quds (Jerusalem) are the warmongers of the region,” said Major General Hassan Firouzabadi on Wednesday.

On September 3, the Russian Defense Ministry said it had detected two “ballistic targets” fired toward the eastern part of the Mediterranean from the central part of the sea.

Israel confirmed on the same day that it has conducted a joint missile test with the US in the Mediterranean Sea, amid high tensions in the region over a possible attack on Syria.

The Iranian commander said when the Israeli regime saw that the United States and its Western allies are backing down from striking Syria; it “hastily” fired two missiles.

The Iranian commander also called on the Muslim nations in the region to remain vigilant in the face of joint plots by the hegemonic powers.

Tensions are running high as Washington is pushing for military action against Syria over the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syrian government forces in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21.

Damascus has vehemently denied the accusations, saying the chemical attack was carried out by the militants themselves as a false-flag operation.
