
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah resumed their offensive operations along the Lebanese border, Friday, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions inside the Qarah and Jarajeer barrens.
Backed by the SyAAF, the Syrian Arab Army and Hezbollah stormed a multitude of hilltops in the Qalamoun Mountains, seizing several points from the exhausted Islamic State terrorists deeply entrenched in this rugged area of western Damascus.
Video footage released by Hezbollah’s official media wing on Friday nigh showed the Syrian Army and the Lebanese resistance advancing in the Qalamoun Mountains, while also scoring several direct hits on the enemy defenses.
The Islamic State is now confined to a small region in the northern part of the Qalamoun Mountains, as they have lost over 200 square kilometers of territory in this rugged region between the Syrian and Lebanese borders.
