Jewish settlers torch Palestinian cars

zionist israeli settlers have torched three Palestinian cars in the West Bank village of Deir Istiya as the number of hate crimes against Palestinians is on the rise in the occupied region.

Vandals also sprayed Hebrew graffiti reading “price tag Gal Arya Yosef” on a mosque in Deir Istiya, a Palestinian village 15 kilometers southwest of Nablus, on Wednesday.

“Arya Yosef” is a reference to an illegal Jewish settler outpost, which was dismantled on Monday.

”This is not the first time Deir Istiya village (has) come under attack by the settlers. Deir Istiya is surrounded by nine zionist israeli settlements, and we are attacked and harassed by settlers on daily basis,” said Deir Istiya Mayor Nazmi Salman, adding that zionist israeli settlers also released some 300 wild pigs into the farming fields of the village, which destroyed and damaged the seasonal crops of the Palestinian farmers.

zionist israeli settlers, who are mostly armed, regularly attack Palestinian villages and farms and set fire to their mosques, olive groves and other Palestinian properties in the occupied West Bank in what they believe to be the “price tag” for every outpost or West Bank settlement that is demolished.

Palestinians and human rights groups have accused zionist israeli authorities of turning a blind eye to settler violence against Palestinians and say assailants are rarely caught or prosecuted.

Former West Bank Division Commander Brigadier General Nitzan Alon last month described settler attacks on Palestinians and their properties in the occupied West Bank as Jewish terrorism.

He also condemned ‘price tag’ attacks by right-wing extremists, saying thatzionist israeli soldiers have not been working enough to stop the violence.

“Even now the extremist minority is capable of intensifying the operations that we call “‘price tag,” but in effect amount to terrorism,” warned Alon, who was replaced by Brig.-Gen. Hagai Mordechai in October.

Alon’s stance toward settler attacks on Palestinian properties has angered many zionist israeli officials and settler groups.
