The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their wide-scale offensive in the West Ghouta region of rural Damascus on Monday, targeting the key village of Deir Khabiyeh, which is under the control of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.

Led by the 42nd and 47th brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture all of the farms around Deir Khabiyeh on Monday, leaving the jihadist rebels with their backs against the wall inside this West Ghouta village.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus City, the Syrian Armed Forces are on the verge of launching their second phase of the Deir Khabiyeh offensive, which consists of storming the two flanks around the village’s southern and western flanks.

Video footage of Monday’s operation was captured by Hezbollah’s media wing:

In the coming hours, the Syrian Armed Forces are expected to launch the final assault to capture Deir Khabiyeh.
