Zionist Regime Adopting Desperate Scorched-Earth Tactics in Gaza and the West Bank: Iran

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson claims that the Israeli regime, in a state of desperation, is adopting a "scorched-earth" strategy in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Nasser Kan’ani expressed his views in a Saturday post on his official X account, responding to 10 days of the Israeli regime’s large-scale “military operation” and aggressive raids on Nablus, Jenin, and Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, which resulted in dozens of deaths.

He noted that Israel has cruelly demolished all infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and now in some northern parts of the West Bank, particularly in Jenin and Tulkarm.

“The Iranian spokesman stressed that the Israeli regime is eager to secure a win against the Palestinian resistance and population, and is employing a ‘scorched-earth’ strategy to do so.”

He noted that some news reports indicate Israeli forces have pulled out of Jenin and Tulkarm, following 10 days of aggression against Jenin and 4 days of assaults on Tulkarm in the West Bank.

Kan’ani urged nations and global organizations to recognize their moral and legal obligation to “prevent the recurrence of the Israeli regime’s war crimes in the West Bank.”

The Israeli military’s operation in Jenin and its refugee camp resulted in the deaths of at least 21 individuals, including seniors and children, and also disrupted water, electricity, and sewage services.

The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) called the past week “the most deadly for Palestinian civilians in the West Bank since last November.”

The rising tensions in the occupied West Bank occur against the backdrop of an aggressive Israeli campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip since October of last year. This offensive has resulted in the deaths of at least 40,939 individuals, predominantly women and children.
