President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of inclusive dialogue among all Syrian parties
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for opposing factions in Syria to engage in dialogue aimed at reaching a consensus on the nation's political leadership, following the militant seizure of Damascus.

In a cabinet session on Sunday, the President addressed the recent developments following the collapse of the Syrian government, a result of militant groups, spearheaded by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), seizing control of Damascus.
Pezeshkian emphasized that determining the future and political framework of Syria is a matter that should be decided by its citizens.
He underscored the critical need to uphold unity and safeguard Syria’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He conveyed a desire for an expedited resolution to the military conflicts and violence in Syria, emphasizing the importance of allowing the Syrian population to determine their future in a peaceful environment, devoid of violence, fear, or detrimental foreign interference.
Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of safeguarding the security of both Syrian citizens and foreign nationals, as well as the protection of sacred sites and diplomatic and consular premises, in accordance with international law.
He stated that Iran remains committed to ongoing diplomatic discussions with all relevant parties and the United Nations, aiming to stabilize the situation in Syria and foster stability and security in the region.
The President of Iran has issued a stern denunciation of Israel’s recent military actions in Syria, urging all factions within the Arab nation, as well as surrounding countries, to stay alert to potential efforts by Israel to leverage the conflict in pursuit of its expansionist and unlawful objectives.
On Sunday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement asserting that decisions regarding Syria’s future should be made solely by its people, free from any “destructive” interference by foreign entities.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is attentively observing the unfolding events in Syria and the broader region. The country plans to implement suitable strategies and stances based on the actions and influence of key players within the Syrian political and security landscape, according to a statement.
