VP calls for implementation of e-government plan

First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri on Monday underlined the need for immediate implementation of the electronic government plan throughout the country.

Speaking during a meeting of the Supreme Council on Information Technology, Jahangiri said once implemented, the plan can play a key role in improving national economy and facilitating rendering public services, urging all relevant officials to contribute to the implementation of the plan.

Jahangiri said that red tapes should not create obstacles in the ways of the country’s progress in line with modern technologies.

Jahangiri expressed hope that with the implementation of the electronic government plan, the country will witness positive steps towards rendering further services in the area of public health.

During the meeting, also attended by the ministers of defense, health, industry, mine and trade and communications and information technology, the secretary of the Supreme Council on Information Technology briefed the participants on the latest developments in the area of electronic health and other different projects on electronic government.
