Palestinians Retaliate to Zionist Regime Strikes in Gaza

Israel stated that it was only targeting Islamic Jihad sites as the strikes hit multiple locations in Gaza.

The Wafa news agency in Gaza reported that the home of the family of Baha Abu Atta, a former commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was destroyed in an airstrike in the Shujaiya neighborhood. Additionally, another house in the Yarmouk area of central Gaza City was also hit.

Wafa reported that the house in the Yarmouk area was entirely destroyed due to a drone missile and two warplane missiles. In response, Palestinian resistance groups retaliated with rocket attacks on Friday.

Mediators from Egypt have made a new effort to negotiate a ceasefire, hoping to end the numerous days of bloodshed that have resulted in many Palestinian deaths.

The European Union has called for an “immediate comprehensive ceasefire” in response to the escalating violence between Israel and the Gaza Strip after three senior members of the Islamic Jihad were killed by Israel on Tuesday. Subsequent airstrikes by Israel in Gaza City have resulted in the deaths of at least three other high-ranking figures within the group, prompting the international community to urge de-escalation.

Friday saw the death of Iyad al-Hassani, a high-ranking commander, due to an airstrike on an apartment in Gaza City, as confirmed by a spokesperson from Islamic Jihad.

Earlier in the day, the group declared that the launching of rockets was a reaction to the murders and prolonged hostility against the Palestinian people.

At least 33 Palestinians, including children, have died as a result of the conflict, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was reinstated to power in December with the help of far-right and ultra-Orthodox Jewish allies, authorized the resumption of airstrikes on Gaza.

According to the latest update from the health ministry, the recent aggression has caused more than 110 injuries in Gaza.

At least three Palestinians were killed and ten others injured in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City’s al-Nasr neighborhood before these developments.

Islamic Jihad has vowed to carry out a retaliatory attack within Israel in response to the destruction of homes in Gaza.

Israel has been continuously attacking the Strip, leading to the death of some resistance leaders. In response, Palestinian groups have retaliated by attacking cities and settlements in occupied lands.

The Israeli military stated that approximately 1,000 rockets have been launched from Gaza up to this point.
