‘West seeks to curb Islamic Awakening’

Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff has highlighted the growing influence of the ongoing wave of Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa, cautioning that the West seeks to curb popular uprisings in the region.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the country’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff emphasized that the recent revolutions in the North African states of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya as well as the uprisings in the Middle Eastern countries of Yemen and Bahrain are indicative of the move towards Islamic awakening.

The statement further said that the recent developments in the region herald a bright future for Muslim nations, adding that Iran has managed to overcome all obstacles standing in its way since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The arrogant powers’ aggressive policies against Tehran and the West’s excessive campaign to undermine Islam are all hostilities in reaction to Iran’s technological and scientific achievements.

Moreover, the statement blasted the Western countries for their attempts to propagate Islamophobia in the world, warning that such moves seek to create division among various branches of Islam, spark religious tensions among Muslims and foment discord among Muslim nations.

It also read that the illusion of an invincible israel is now shattered, adding that the United States and its Western allies can no longer decide the fate of Middle Eastern nations.

The Middle East nations have been awakened, and the era when colonial powers could plunder huge wealth of resources at the disposal of the regional states is nearing its end, the statement concluded.
