Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday lashed out at western democracy and the way nations are treated in the West.
“Democracy is a great lie in most European countries and the US. People are the only element with no real role (in the West),” President Ahmadinejad said, addressing a ceremony on psychological warfare here in Tehran.
Ahmadinejad pointed to the arrest of students during a large rally held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh on September 25, and said that protestors in Europe and the US are suppressed in the harshest sense of the word.
Elaborating on different aspects of psychological warfare, Ahmadinejad stated, “Propaganda and psychological operation are the most important tool used in the arrogant powers’ front against (Islamic) Revolution. This is not a new issue and the arrogant powers have always used this instrument all throughout the history.”
He further noted that such means of psychological warfare is used for the achievement of political goals.
The Iranian President underlined that the enemies have made a wide use of propaganda and psychological warfare in different Middle-East conflicts, including the Israeli invasion against Palestine as well as occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, in a bid to present a forged picture of the realities.
“The irony is that the (US) occupiers (of Iraq) charge others of interference in Iraq’s internal affairs,” while they are the ones who have occupied the country, Ahmadinejad concluded.
