Death Toll in Thailand Refugee Camp Blaze Doubles to 60

More than 60 were killed and hundreds wounded following a blaze at a Myanmar refugee camp in Thailand.

The Mae Hong So camp near the Myanmar border was sheltering approximately 3,800 displaced Karen tribe members as a result of the fighting inside the neighboring country, RT reported.

The blaze broke out Friday evening, and spread quickly, taking over two hours to put out.

It was thought to have been caused by a cooking accident and the huts made of bamboo poles and large dry leaves allowed it to spread quickly.

Many of the dead are reportedly women and children.
