Syrian Journalist: Syrians Indebted to Qassem Soleimani

Mohamad Abdo Al-Ibrahim, Syrian veteran journalist, says Iran and its former IRGC Qods Force Commander played a significant role in defeating Daesh and other Western-backed terrorist groups in the war-torn country.

Speaking in an interview with FNA, Dr. al-Ibrahim said, “The Russian support, and Chinese, Hezbollah’s, and all other anti-terrorism groups have never let Syrians down. Under the brave leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, and the heroic roles of the Syrian Army and such invited friends’ contributions, Syria is soon, God willing, to restore all of its occupied territories from occupiers and their proxies and Daesh affiliates.”

“American soldiers on the Syrian territories are occupiers… The Syrians, particularly those under direct occupation of such forces and their lackey militia and Daesh affiliates are revolting against the occupiers”, he added.

Mohamad Abdo al-Ibrahim, Ph.D, Linguistics, is a Syrian university lecturer and veteran journalist. He is a member of Baath Arab Socialist Party of Syria for over four decades.

Below is the full text of the interview:

Q: How do Syrians feel about US soldiers deployment in their country?

A: American soldiers on the Syrian territories are occupiers. US soldiers in Syria have invaded, under different false pretexts and names, parts of Syria. Occupation forces should definitely pay for their violations, usurpation and crimes. The Syrians, particularly those under direct occupation of such forces and their lackey militia and Daesh affiliates are revolting against the occupiers and their tools.

Q: How has the Syrian society been affected by the presence of American soldiers?

A: The US has been plundering every Syrian resource including the Syrian wheat, which have a unique genetic productivity, not to mention the sacred Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity. On a daily basis, news is circulated about US occupation conveying stolen resources from Syria. Actually, Syria is in a dire need for its oil and mineral resources after more than 10 years of a foreign-backed war of terrorism against everything Syrian. Personally, I remember that once I stood about 9 hours in a queue to fill my car, but in vain as there was no more fuel in the gas station.

Q: The US has seized Syrian oil, funded Daesh and other mercenaries and placed sanctions which hamper reconstruction of the country; we still see the Syrian army managed to defeat Daesh, and already started rebuilding the country torn by the 10-year war. How has Syria managed to do so?

A: The Syrian Army has been carrying its duty in defending Syria against multinational terrorists. This very heroic Army has been further boosted and backed by anti-terrorism allies; on top stands Iran with its experts and advisors. The Syrians are indebted to the sacrifices of martyr Qassem Soleimani and other Iranian heroes and to Iran, leadership and people, for playing such a historic role in defending justice, rights, and resistance. The Russian support, and Chinese, Hezbollah’s, and all other anti-terrorism groups have never let Syrians down. Under the brave leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, and the heroic roles of the Syrian Army and such invited friends’ contributions, Syria is soon, God willing, to restore all of its occupied territories from occupiers and their proxies and Daesh affiliates.
