Yemen Issues Warning to Foreign Firms: Exit Israeli-Occupied Areas Amid Looming Escalation
The chairman of Yemen's Supreme Political Council has issued a warning about the increasing dangers of investing in Israeli-occupied territories. This cautionary statement arises from the drone and missile strikes carried out by Yemen's Armed Forces in response to the continued aggressive actions of Tel Aviv in Gaza.
Mahdi al-Mashat issued a statement to Yemen’s official Saba news agency on Sunday, urging all firms operating in the occupied territories to heed his warning and exit immediately, citing increasingly perilous conditions.
Mashat emphasized that companies choosing to remain operational within the Israeli-occupied territories, despite the cautionary warning, must fully accept responsibility for their decision and acknowledge any resulting losses.
“He indicated that additional measures may be implemented in the coming days, if deemed necessary, which could significantly endanger companies making investments in the occupied territories.”
Mashat highlighted that, “Ignoring the Yemeni warning is akin to gambling on a fragile scenario that may result in unwelcome repercussions.”
A senior Yemeni official criticized Israel, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration is disregarding investors’ interests and risking their safety for its own objectives. The official asserted that a regime unconcerned with the fate of its own captives held in Gaza will not ensure the security of foreign companies or investments.
He emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces are poised to issue an ultimatum for foreign companies to vacate Israeli-occupied territories, aiming to reduce harm and avert potential collateral damage.
Mashat indicated that the impact may not be limited to strikes within the occupied territories, but could potentially threaten international investments should the Yemeni Armed Forces choose to intensify their operations.
Amid the intensification of conflict in Gaza, Yemeni forces have imposed a tactical blockade on key maritime routes in an effort to hinder the transport of military supplies to Israel. This move aims to prompt the international community to address the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.
