Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari announced that the Army will test a home-made military helicopter in the upcoming military drills codenamed ‘Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH)’.
“The Iranian Ground Force will use its most up-to-date weapons and military hardware, including a home-made military helicopter, in the upcoming maneuvers,” Brigadier General Heidari said on Thursday.

He noted that Zolfaqar and Samsam tanks as well as several armored vehicles will also be deployed in the upcoming maneuver.

“Different kinds of anti-armored and anti-tank missiles as well as different air defense systems will be deployed in the Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) wargames,” Brigadier General Heidari said.

He noted that the Iranian Ground Force will test its capabilities in electronic warfare in the upcoming military maneuvers.

Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) drills will be held in an area covering the East of Strait of Hormuz to the Southernmost of the Gulf of Aden from December 25 to December 31.

Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Abdolrahim Moussavi announced on Thursday Armed Forces are to stage a large scale military maneuver in the Southern parts of the country which stretches from North of the Indian Ocean to the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.

He added that various surface and under-surface units from Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as well as the Basij (Volunteer) Force are due to participate in the seven-day war-game which will start on December 25 in a 2.2 million-square-meter area.

Brigadier General Moussavi said that the maneuver will cover a large area of Iran’s Southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

The military wargame carries a message of peace and friendship to the regional states as Iran is never seeking dominance over other nations, said the commander.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian Ground Force Commander Lieutenant General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced that his forces are due to stage massive wargames in late December or Early January in the Southeastern parts of the country.

We will practice two tactics of asymmetric war, war with new threats and proxy wars,” the Iranian commander said.

“Iran would also use suicide, surveillance and imaging drones in the military drill,” Pourdastan further added.

The Iranian commander noted that the maneuvers could increase capability and potentials of the Iranian ground force.

Pourdastan further noted that the Army’s Ground Force is watching bases and forces in neighboring countries, and would use its potentials in case their activities divert from normal course.

Tehran has repeatedly stated that its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
