Yemeni tribal fighters have shot down Us-backed Saleh’s army plane

Yemeni tribal fighters have shot down an army warplane in the Arhab region north of Yemen’s capital of Sana’a, tribal sources report.

The aircraft was targeted by tribal forces in Arhab on Wednesday, AP reported.

A Yemeni Defense Ministry official confirmed the incident but gave no further details.

Meanwhile, Yemeni regime forces killed at least two protesters and injured several others in the mountainous region of Arhab on the outskirts of Sana’a.

The latest killings come as the regime continues its brutal clampdown on anti-regime protesters.

Elsewhere in Sana’a, an explosion hit the Central Security forces’ headquarters — a division which is believed to have been involved in recent crackdown.

Yemeni anti-government protesters have called for a march of millions against the regime on Wednesday.

People in Yemen have held regular anti-regime protests in major cities across the country since January to demand an end to Ali Abdullah Saleh’s three decades of rule.
