Yemeni Drone Strike Hits Saudi Troops in Asir

Yemen’s army launched a drone attack on Saudi soldiers in retaliation for the Riyadh regime's stepped-up bombing campaign on the impoverished nation.

Yemen’s official Saba news agency reported that a Yemeni Qasef K2 (Striker K2) combat drone had accurately hit a gathering of Saudi soldiers in the area of Rabouaa in the kingdom’s southwestern Asir region.

Large groups of the troops were killed during the raid, the report added.

On Monday, the Yemeni forces intercepted and targeted three unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to the Saudi-led military coalition, as they were flying in the skies over the country’s western coastal province of Hudaydah and the kingdom’s southwestern border region of Najran.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for 4 years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25, 2018 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
