Great Satan US Warns: Berri, Qahwaji Targets of Assassination

AL-Akhbar Lebanese daily reported Wednesday that recent US warnings intersected with other Arab and Western fears that both House Speaker Nabih Berri and Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji might be the targets of assassination attempts.

It further mentioned that the warnings included information of great importance and specific details.
“This information were handed to the competent authorities to follow,” the report added.
These warnings come to confirm security information already transferred to both Berri, Qahwaji, and another Lebanese figure months ago.

“In light of the worsening of the political and security developments, high security measures have been taken, to confront these attempts that might turn if applied to detonator that might bomb the entire Lebanese situation,” it said.

According to the daily, the most dangerous is that some political forces are trying to undermine the level of the threats.

Meanwhile, March 14 feared in recent days that assassinations might target some of its prominent figures.
“In these circumstances, such security incidents are to destabilize the country and make March 14 retreat from pressuring towards forming a new government and holding the elections,” they claimed.
