‘US-backed terrorists to turn on America’

A senior Iranian commander has slammed West’s double policy in fighting terrorism, warning that terrorist groups supported by the US and its allies will eventually turn against them.

According to Press TV, Deputy Head of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Seyyed Masoud Jazayeri said on Saturday that the spread of terrorism from the region, particularly Syria, to other areas will cause numerous problems for the US and their regional and trans-regional supporters.
Jazayeri said the US arms al-Qaeda forces on the one hand and on the other sends them to their deaths, adding that,” Weapons that are provided for the al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups will target the US.”
The Iranian commander added that terrorist groups have realized the new US counter-terrorism approach, which is to weaken cells established by Washington, and are trying to take measures against it.
