Growing Significance World Qods Day

“Israel is a cancerous tumour that ought to be weeded out from the region.”

Thus spoke the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA). His words continue to ring with precision 34 after he designated the Last Friday of fasting Ramadhan as International Qods Day in order to arouse the conscience, of not only Iranian Muslims but also the ummah throughout the globe, to the cause of Islam’s former Qibla, Bayt ol-Moqaddas. In other words the late Imam laid a solid base for setting in motion a liberation struggle that Insha Allah (God Willing) will liberate Qods one day and wipe out from our midst any vestiges of the racist parasite called Israel.

Unfortunately, this year a grave plot seems to be underway to undermine the aspirations of the ummah for the al-Aqsa Mosque as is indicated by the coup in Egypt, and the sedition created by the West in Syria and other places by backing and arming a group of self-styled Muslims called Salafis, who are serving Israeli interests. Recently, some US and Zionist officials had the audacity to say that Egyptian people should be starved so that Egypt will have no choice but to become totally dependent on the US and turn into an Israeli satellite. The start of the fresh round of conspiracy talks between the Zionist entity and the so-called Palestinian Self-Rule Authority, with the backing of the US and certain Arab reactionary regimes is part of the same plot. Syria is being targeted because of its opposition to the Zionist entity, while Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, has been designated ‘terrorist’ because of its determination to help the Palestinian materialize their rights.  Anyway, as indicated by the usual millions-strong rallies that are being held throughout Iran today after the Friday Prayers, whether the enemies of Islam like it or not, Bayt al-Moqaddas will eventually be liberated, as it was liberated earlier in history from the Crusader occupation despite the divisive policies of now forgotten rulers who at times aligned with the invaders from Europe against fellow Muslims.

In view of these developments, the liberation of Palestine is not wishful thinking. It is as realistic as the triumphant re-entry of Muslim forces in 1187 in holy Qods to end the illegitimate 88-year existence of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. If unity between the Turks, the Kurds, the Arabs and the Persians had liberated Qods and Palestine 820 years ago, what ails it today in obliterating the Zionists given the greater strength in material resources and numerical superiority of world Muslims?

All it needs is motivation. Eight centuries ago, the Egyptian fleet had blocked the coasts of the Usurper Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, while Persian sappers carried out the dangerous task of mining the formidable defenses of the Crusaders so that the Arab archers could pick up the enemies clean from the saddles of their steeds thereby enabling the Turkish cavalry assisted by hardy Kurdish infantrymen to deliver the coup de grace. Today also the collective power of Muslim countries – if properly mobilized – can make history repeat. And in the same manner as the Muslims had graciously allowed tens of thousands of women, children and men of the occupier Crusade regime to board the ships back to Europe from where they, their parents or their ancestors had come, today also we can be magnanimous to the people calling themselves citizens of the spurious entity called Israel.

When the hour of victory finally dawns, unlike the bloodbath unleashed by the Crusaders from 1099 onwards and the Zionist intruders from the 1930s onwards (well before the illegitimate birth of Israel in 1948), we can provide safe passage to them to go back to their ancestral lands if they disassociate from the detested Zionist criminals. Otherwise, they are unprintable prophecies in Islamic texts of the fate that will befall the Zionists who will not even find a safe place behind the supposedly impenetrable rocks and mountains havens, like the one in which they have built the Dimona nuclear plant. Israel is daydreaming if it thinks that its threats of attacking Iran, coupled with the US military presence in the region and divisions among Arab states has brought it a step closer to its cherished goal of ‘Greater Israel’ stretching from the River Nile in Egypt to the River Euphrates in Iraq. The Zionists are living in a fool’s paradise if they believe that atomic bombs and other weapons of mass destruction would bail them out.

Certainly not! This the message of Qods International Day, a day that has been gathering strength every year as more and more people around the world are beginning to rally on the Last Friday of Ramadhan for efforts to coordinate the struggle for liberation of Bayt ol-Moqaddas.     Imam Khomeini had wisely predicted of this budding Islamic solidarity, saying: “If the world’s billion plus Muslims, each pour a bucket of water, Israel will be drowned.”

The present Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is also confident of the triumph of Islam and Muslims over the rotting Zionist entity, which will implode from within, in view of the economic, cultural, manpower, and other differences it is facing.
