Zahhar: Third intifada is possible despite PA’s security power

Member of Hamas political bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar said the third intifada is likely to erupt despite the increasing security power of the Palestinian Authority (PA) in comparison to the second intifada in 2000.

In an interview with Hamas’s official website, Zahhar opined that “the only solution to defend the Aqsa Mosque and to put an end to Israeli plans is resistance”.

The Hamas senior official Zahhar slammed the PA for using its security forces for the protection of Jewish settlers. He stressed that “the Arab and Muslim nations are all responsible for the protection of the Aqsa Mosque”.

Zahhar called on Palestinians to develop resistance tools for the confrontation with Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank. “The Israeli Occupation can easily be defeated by the use of simple weapons”, he opined.
