Sheikh Qassem Receives Jumblatt’s Minister: Unconditioned Dialogue A Must

In an attempt to initiate dialogue between rival political leaders, National Struggle Front [NSF] ministers visited Wednesday Hizbullah headquarters to discuss their leader MP Walid Jumblatt’s initiative.

The initiative, announced by Jumblatt Monday, basically called on all parties to accept dialogue as the only means to resolve the crisis and avoid involvement in Syria’s conflict.
In details, Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem received Jumbaltt’s ministers: Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi, Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour and Minister of Displaced Alaaeddine Terro.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Administrative Reform Mohammad Fneish and MP Hassan Fadlallah also attended the one-hour meeting.

According to Hizbullah Media Relations, Sheikh Qassem reiterated the party’s support for an inter-Lebanese dialogue. “The main core of the initiative is dialogue. Hizbullah supports dialogue without any restrictions or preconditions,” he said.

His Eminence further asserted that “no party, regardless of its magnitude and popular representation, can claim representing the country alone or have monopoly over political and popular representation.”
“The only effective and productive solution is the constructive dialogue,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Qassem warned that “the only the alternative is the vacuum that would move the country into the unknown.”
“No matter how long it takes, bettors on regional and international developments will conclude that dialogue is the solution, but after having losses that can be avoided now.”

For his part, Aridi told reporters that the NSF initiative went hand-in-hand with President Michel Suleiman’s efforts to resume all-party talks.
“Our meeting today was useful and there is an agreement that dialogue can resolve all issues,” Aridi said.
He further stated “There is an agreement among all political parties without exception on the need for dialogue and serious work to reach common grounds.”

“Dialogue is the only means for understanding among the Lebanese,” the minister asserted.

Moreover, Aridi slammed March 14 coalition for boycotting the national dialogue. “It is not through boycott that problems can be solved,” he viewed.
The NSF ministers will visit Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun Friday.
