A recent remark by the US President Barack Obama that he is “really good at killing people” is “shocking,” a political commentator said Monday, but it also shows how American consciousness is “addicted to wars and killing.”

Our economy is addicted to “military productions,” Bruce Gagnon, coordinator at Global Network against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space told Press TV.

According to a new book, President Obama told his top aides during the 2012 presidential campaign that he was “really good at killing people.”

Obama made the remark while discussing the country’s controversial assassination drone strikes in several Muslim countries, the book said.

“It’s not really much of a surprise because it’s very clear that his [Obama’s] presidency has really been a betrayal to the American people and people around the world,” Gagnon said. “For a man who won a Noble Peace Prize to turn around and really brag about being a good killer is just… I think it’s just evil.”

Gagnon said President Obama “promised so many things when he ran for president and he really has betrayed” Americans “over and over again.”

“We have become a killer nation,” Gagnon quoted a Catholic nun friend of his, “and Obama has really become the epitome of that very idea; America as a killing colonizing power.”
