Zionist Regime’s Raid in Nablus Refugee Camp Leads to Death of Young Palestinian Man

A young Palestinian man has been killed and another wounded by Israeli forces during a raid on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. This is the most recent occurrence in a year-long surge of violence that shows no indication of decreasing.

Early Monday morning, a great number of Israeli soldiers invaded Askar refugee camp near the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Safa news agency, as reported by witnesses.

Clashes erupted between Israeli troops and resistance fighters during the raid, with both sides exchanging intense gunfire.

Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department in Nablus, informed WAFA (the official Palestinian news agency) that two Palestinians had been shot with live ammunition during the confrontations. Jibril reported that one of them had passed away, while the other had been shot in the chest and was in a critical state.

The victim, Saleh Mohammad Sabra, 22, was identified by the Palestinian Ministry of Health as having been struck in the chest with an Israeli live bullet.

Israeli forces prepared to demolish the family house of Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha, a Hamas operative responsible for a retaliatory attack in the West Bank town of Huwara in February that resulted in the deaths of two Israeli settlers.

Human rights groups have long criticized Israel’s decades-old policy of demolishing the homes of attackers, claiming it is a form of collective punishment.

There are those who doubt the effectiveness of demolitions in preventing future attacks, arguing that they only serve to increase animosity and resentment in Palestinian communities.
