Zionist sources allege that Egypt planning an assault on Yemen

A report from Yemeni media on Wednesday revealed a statement by Yehoshua Meir Lichter, an Israeli researcher associated with the Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University. Lichter, through a message on platform X, asserted the existence of “classified information” pointing to a forthcoming intervention by Egypt, with assistance from Israel, aimed at deterring the Houthi insurgents and addressing the downturn in Suez Canal revenues.

The Egyptian Air Force is reportedly preparing to launch offensive operations against the Houthi militants, following substantial losses sustained by Egypt, according to sources.

In the interim, Mohamed Mahmoud Mehran, a specialist in international law, underscored Egypt’s entitlement to implement requisite actions to safeguard its national security. He highlighted that any threats to maritime navigation constitute a direct challenge to the country’s security.

He emphasized that international law, particularly Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, provides nations with the right to self-defense. Additionally, he underlined that the 1982 Law of the Sea Convention supports the right of states to safeguard maritime routes. He further insisted that any prospective measures taken by Egypt must be commensurate with the magnitude of the threat and adhere to international legal standards.

He cautioned that Israel’s ongoing infractions in the region significantly contribute to rising regional tensions, urging the international community to take action to uphold international law and promote regional stability.
