He said,” Muslim world expects Islamic Republic of Iran to provide a role model for Islamic banking” and referred to the Shia jurisprudents rejecting some banking policies in operation in the present system.
The cleric announced that the Unity Bank is scheduled to lend interest-free loans with a minor difference from Shia clerics who permit a 2-4 per cent of interest on loans.
On the eve of the 39th anniversary of Islamic Revolution, Hujjat-ul-Islam Alam-ul-Hoda noted various programs scheduled to be held across Iran particularly in cities with a combination of Shia and Sunni population.
The cleric referred to international conference on ‘Al-Quds, capital of interfaith reconciliation’ as a part of the committee’s schedules to be held in Tehran attended by top Iranian figures and international luminaries.
He called the conference a response to the illusionary claim by US President calling Jerusalem al-Quds as Israeli capital and said,” We believe al-Quds can be the capital for all Abrahamic religions since the followers of all these religions have coexisted in the holy city.”
Iranian top cleric alluded to Qur’anic verse stressing necessity of solidarity among Muslims and said,” World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has gone beyond the objective and called for unity among all Abrahamic religions.”
