Intel. service foils plots

A senior Iranian military commander has hailed the Islamic Republic’s intelligence service for infiltration into Israeli spy agency, Mossad, saying such a move has foiled Israeli plots against Iran.

Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, a senior commander at the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC), said Iranian intelligence forces have apprehended the key terrorist behind the assassination of Iranian scientist Masoud Ali-Mohammadi by infiltrating into Mossad.

“The country’s (Iran’s) intelligence apparatus not only arrested some members of the groups affiliated with the Zionist regime [of Israel], but apprehended the main agent behind the assassination,” Javani added.

“Over the past 32 years, [Iranian] intelligence forces have always thwarted enemy plots and kept them from achieving their objectives,” Javani further told Fars news agency.

“Few plots were hatched in Iran without foreign intervention, and all of them finally ended in failure,” he said.

“A clear example of that was the [Iraqi] imposed war [in the 80’s]. The enemy believed it could defeat the Islamic Revolution through war, but it was the Iranian nation which emerged victorious,” said the IRGC commander.

He said Israel has, in recent years, been trying to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program by assassinating the country’s nuclear scientists, adding Tehran spares no effort to foil Tel Aviv’s future plots through intelligence work.

He said terrorist acts against Iranian scientists are basically engineered by countries which are concerned over Iran going nuclear, namely the US, Britain and “Zionists.”

He underlined Iranian intelligence agencies have been working in tandem to foil enemy plots.
