30 British People Arrested at London Protests

According to media reports, the current peaceful strike across Britain is just moving to a harsh condition, as the police have begun clashing with anti-government protesters.

The Metropolitan police are once more exercising their kettling tactics to halt the industrial action, which was strongly condemned by Prime Minister David Cameron and other MPs, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Hundreds of police forces are reportedly using the kettling tactics to break up the groups of protesters in Whitehall. The protesters said that they were having a peaceful demonstration expressing their opposition to the crippling cuts imposed by the Tory-led government.

Labour leader Ed Miliband regarded the strike as a “mistake,” and said, “I understand the anger of workers who feel they are being singled out by a reckless and provocative government.

But I believe this action is wrong. Negotiations are ongoing. So it is a mistake to go on strike because of the effect on the people who rely upon these services. And it is mistake because it will not help to win the argument.”

Condemning Miliband’s remarks, Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union leader Mark Serwotka said, “He’s wrong on two counts. We’re not striking while negotiations are going on.

There’s talks with the government but no serious compromise on the issues that really matter. When one delegate said she was disappointed with Ed Miliband’s reaction, the entire hall erupted. Ed Miliband should be thinking again about what he’s doing.
