4 people shot and killed in Missouri, police say

Four people have been shot and killed in a shooting at the Cherokee Place Business Incubator in the US city of St. Louis, Missouri.

City police said on Twitter on Thursday: “There are 4 adult victims, 2 male and 2 female, confirmed dead at a scene of a shooting in the 2700 block of Cherokee.”
Police official said the incident appears to be a murder-suicide and one of the men was the shooter, adding that all of victims were employees.
St. Louis Police Captain Michael Sack said: “After an investigation that included a review of the video of the building, we determined this was a murder-suicide.”
He added: “The gentleman who killed the other people inside the office appeared to have had an argument with the others and at some point opened fire with a weapon.”
Police have also recovered a semi-automatic handgun from the scene which is thought to be the weapon used in the shooting.
Every year, more than 30,000 people are shot and killed in the United States.
The US averages 87 gun deaths each day as a function of gun violence, with an average of 183 injured.
The year 2012 was a record setting year for gun sales in the US.
About 4.5 million firearms are sold annually in the United States at a cost of 2 to 3 billion dollars.
