Zionist Israeli forces detain activists at Hebron protest

208922Zionist regime forces detained 10 protesters on Wednesday at a demonstration in Hebron’s Old City, activists said.

Protesters wore masks of Martin Luther King and zionist US President Barack Obama, who landed in Israel on Thursday. Activists said they wanted to remind Obama of the struggle King led against discrimination in the US.

“Today we impersonate Obama, whose ancestors like King struggled for freedom,” said Issa Amro, coordinator of activist group Youth Against Settlements. “We refuse America’s obvious bias for Israel despite its practices.”

“We were hoping that the first black president of the United States would be more fair with Palestinians,” Amro added, extending an invitation to Obama to visit the Apartheid Museum in Hebron.

Amro was one of 10 Palestinians detained by Israeli soldiers at the protest, activists said, adding that Badi Dweik, Mohammad al-Zghayer and Nour Abu Aisheh were also arrested.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said soldiers arrested six people at the demonstration because they entered a “closed military zone” in the southern West Bank city.
