In Video: Syrian Army expands control in Eastern Ghouta, storms another village
Weeks after fully recapturing Hawsh Farah village in eastern Ghouta, the Syrian Army seeks to expand its control on another strategic village deep the rebel-held territories, namely Hawsh Nasri.
Government troops broke into the village in a swift military operation which aimed at securing the area that had for long served as a launching pad for rebel rocket attacks on the capital, Damascus, as well as a second defense line protecting the insurgents’ bastion in Douma.
A video report has been filmed by the Army’s media wing showing rebel trenches smashed by the Syrian Army, as well as weapons seized.
